Based on its distinctive trans-European character, eCo-FEV acts within a network of different organizations and initiatives. The support of several experienced and reliable actors in the European scientific community is essential for eCo-FEV.
European Commission (EC)
eCo-FEV runs within the EC´s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). The advancement of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is a crucial part of the funding programme. In fact, the so-called Digital Agenda of the EU is supervised by the European Commission Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG Connect).
DG Connect acts as an executive body dedicated to ICT and is divided into Directorates such as Electronic Communications Networks & Services, Excellence in Science and Cooperation. So, it supports ICT-related research initiatives all across Europe and monitors international developments.
European Council for Automotive R&D (EUCAR)
Within EUCAR, Europe´s automotive manufacturers combine their ambitions for basic research and development (R&D) concerning future automotive challenges. Regarding future EU-standards and related developments, the group insists on the inclusion of industrial needs and research findings. EUCAR is closely connected to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).The body was founded in 1994.
